Standard guitar tuning: E A D G B E
From the thickest, lowest string to the thinnest, the six strings are E, A, D, G, B, E. A handy way to remember it: "Eddie Ate Dynamite, Good Bye Eddie". Tune each string to its target note and you are in standard tuning — the one used by most songs.
