The Jam Jam drum machine lays out eight pads in a 2×4 grid — kick, snare, closed hi-hat, open hi-hat, clap, rimshot, tom and cymbal — plus 48 drum packs spread across 14 genres, from Techno Detroit to Boom Bap, from Jungle to Dub Roots. The pads never move: switching pack changes the sounds, never the layout, so your reflexes carry straight over. Hit them with a finger, a mouse or a plugged-in MIDI controller, and let the step sequencer loop while you play your chord progression on the keyboard right above. All 48 packs are open to everyone, with no download and no account.

The pads never move
Kick, snare, closed and open hi-hat, clap, rimshot, tom and cymbal keep their square in the 2×4 grid: from one pack to the next, only the sounds change.
A real MIDI controller
MIDI notes 36 to 43 fire the eight pads by default, and MIDI-learn reassigns them to your own gear; a whole pack transposes from −12 to +12 semitones.
Sequencer and arpeggiator
Patterns of 4, 8 or 16 steps between 40 and 240 BPM, a degree and an octave per step, randomisation — plus an arpeggiator with 4 patterns, 3 rates and 1 to 3 octaves.

Is the online drum machine free?
Yes. All 48 drum packs are open — not one of them is premium-only — with no sign-up and no download. It runs in your browser, and in the Jam Jam Android app the pads keep playing offline.
Can I use a MIDI controller?
Yes. MIDI notes 36 to 43 trigger the eight pads by default, and MIDI-learn lets you reassign them to the keys or pads of your own gear. The eight synth macros take MIDI knobs too.
Can it loop a pattern by itself?
Yes. The step sequencer builds patterns of 4, 8 or 16 steps between 40 and 240 BPM, with a degree and an octave per step, a randomise button, and as many patterns as you like — each one duplicable.
