Free online bouzouki tuner
A tuner with the Irish and Greek bouzouki tunings, right in your browser.
The Jam Jam bouzouki tuner listens through your microphone and tells you, in real time, which note is sounding and how far sharp or flat you are. Three presets: Irish standard GDAD (G2, D3, A3, D4), the older Irish GDAE in fifths (G2, D3, A3, E4), and the Greek four-course tetrachordo CFAD (C3, F3, A3, D4). In-tune zone at ±5 cents, cents to the unit, frequency to a tenth of a hertz.
How to tune a bouzouki

Allow the microphone
Open the tuner, pick Bouzouki and grant mic access: the audio is analysed on your device, nothing is uploaded.

Pick your tuning
GDAD for most Irish playing, GDAE for the fifths tradition, CFAD for a Greek tetrachordo.

Tune from the low course up
Pluck the lowest course open, centre the needle, then move up. The tuner locks onto the nearest course.

Match each pair by ear
Tune one string of a course with the needle, then bring its twin onto it until the beating stops.
A tuner that knows three bouzoukis
Irish GDAD and GDAE
The modal GDAD favoured in sessions, plus the historic GDAE in fifths, each as its own preset.
Greek tetrachordo CFAD
The four-course Greek tuning, so a Greek bouzouki is not forced through an Irish preset.
Reference note in a bouzouki voice
Every string plays its target note with a real bouzouki timbre, so you can check a string by ear before touching the peg.
Auto, manual or chromatic
It locks the nearest string by itself; one tap freezes a string, another returns to auto. Chromatic mode covers anything outside the presets.

Is this bouzouki tuner free?
Completely: no account, no ads, nothing to install. It all runs in your browser, and the microphone audio is analysed on the spot. It is never sent to a server.
GDAD or GDAE?
GDAD is the modern Irish standard: the open D drone suits modal tunes. GDAE is the older fifths tuning, mandolin-like. Both are presets in Jam Jam.
Does it cover the Greek three-course trichordo?
Not as a preset: the Greek preset is the four-course tetrachordo CFAD. For a trichordo, use chromatic mode and tune to the notes you need.
